When/how did your Twilight obsession begin? I went to see Dark Knight and I saw a movie poster that just said “Twilight” I went home and looked it up and I thought this could be interesting. I was going through a tuff break up and it was the dead of winter in CT. I needed something to read. I was hooked from the 1st book.

What is your favorite Twilight Quote? “Death is peaceful, easy. Life is harder” and “Don’t be self-conscious, if I could dream at all, it would be about you. And I’m not ashamed of it”

Who is your favorite non-holy Twinity (minor) character? Emmett, Charlie and Angela

What is your favorite Twilight memory? FanCamp and BD2 Black Carpet that whole weekend was just epic. And Now Forks. Forks 2013 rocked my world!!

What has being a fan of Twilight opened up for you? I read more books and fanfic. It taught me the kindness of strangers still happens. It opened my eyes to new music. And it also lead me to my meeting some of the most amazing people who now I could NEVER live without.

What are your fanfic hard limits? Smutty fics by teenagers is a NO NO. Not into Slash fics but bi or group is ok. LOL (Odd I know. Don’t ask.)

What is your biggest ficpeeve? When writers put “real” people in their fics. Like if I read another fic with Dr. Facinelli, I might scream. LOL And book and movie quotes

Who are your favorite authors? Too many to name

Why do you read fanfiction? I could tell you it’s for the stories or tell you is so Twilight is still living on in these stories but let’s face it, that would be mostly a lie. I read for the SMUT. Just like EVERYONE else. Hahaha

What other fandoms do you count yourself a member of? Hmmmm TVD, Marvel, Disney, Superman, and a sorta Star Wars. I like a lot of different stuff. But no fandom has affected my life like Twi

How Brina and I met: While our group was heading to line up to get our camping spaces in LA fan camp, we past 2 girls struggling with their gear and a huge-ass cooler (which we later discovered was filled with alcohol). They ended up in line behind with us as we waited (SO much waiting!)… in the rain… And then when we finally got our (one night) spots, their tent was right in front of mine. (We ended up having to move the next day, but were only a tent away then.) So, one of those girls was Brina (obviously). One night, Brina and Michelle were up talking and drinking in their tent, while I was pretending to sleep in mine. I crawled out and sat on the cold pavement talking to Brina for hours. (Michelle passed out I think. LOL.) We laughed, we cried, we totally bonded. We’ve been joined at the hip ever since.

5 little-known facts about you:  I’m a twin (a brother, two minutes younger); my cousin’s daughter was Miss Virginia a few years ago (Miss USA pageant); I had thyroid cancer (thyroid was removed in 2004); this is hard…not sure I can think of two more (well, there’s one…but I’m not mentioning that one on here – LOL!!)

When/how did your Twilight obsession begin? I’d seen the books on the shelves in the local stores – even picked them up a few times, but always put them down because they were “vampire” books (said with rolled eyes). Then talk of the movie started and I’d heard that Rob had been cast. I liked him in Goblet of Fire, so I broke down and got Twilight. At the same time – on the same day in fact, several life-altering events happened that I won’t go into (plus it was the day before the anniversary of my mother’s passing)…the books became an escape for me. I devoured them. It was June 26th & Breaking Dawn came out on Aug 2nd…by which time I think I’d read the first three books at least three times each. 😉

What is your favorite Twilight quote? Wow…this is hard. It’s been a while since I’ve read the books. It’s more scenes that are favorites. Like the blood-typing – I was so disappointed that it wasn’t in the movie. And it’s so much better from Edward’s POV. In New Moon – I liked what happened between when they left Aro & when they arrived back in Forks. All the waiting to be allowed to leave & the flight home. The tent scene in Eclipse – the movie does a fair job of capturing the essence of that scene. In Breaking Dawn – well the “You got food in my hair!” was always a favorite. And Garrett’s speech – another thing I wish we’d seen in the movie.

Who is your favorite non-holy Twinity (minor) character? There are so many… Jasper, Alice, Garrett…Charlie (but that’s more due to Billy Burke than anything in the books), Peter (more from Midnight Sun – and then because of Erik Odom 😉 )

Which is your favorite Twilight movie?  Definitely Breaking Dawn (it is one long movie, you know? 😉 ) They’re the two I can rewatch over and over. I used to be that way with the first one, but I think I wore it out  😉

What is your favorite song from any of the Twilight soundtracks? Turning Page. A Thousand Years. Anything by Muse. It always seemed as if most of the best songs on each soundtrack ended up playing over the end credits. But maybe that’s just me.

Ideal vacay? Forks, set stalking, Brit Pack concert, or a non-Twi premiere? I’ve done the Brit Pack. I would love to visit Forks. Set stalking? I don’t think so. Surprisingly though, a non-Twi premiere has crossed my mind (and not directly related to Twi in any way)

What is your favorite non-Twilight film of a Twilight star?Probably Goblet of Fire. I love Remember Me, thought it’s a difficult one to watch. Frost/Nixon w/Michael Sheen was really good. Hmmm…Lee Pace was in The Hobbit (don’t ever ask me to choose one – LOL)

What is your favorite Twilight memory?  BD2LA, for sure. Finally being face to face with Allis; meeting Erik Odom (and Jack Morrissey). Putting faces to the names of so many people that I’d only spoken to online. Standing in that freezing plaza & singing along to It Will Rain & A Thousand Years with about 1500 other fans – that memory still brings tears to my eyes. (kmah’s Note: I almost forgot about the ‘It Will Rain moment’. That was amazing!) A non-Fan Camp memory, though – being involved in an online radio interview with Jackson back in January of 2009. I only got to ask him two questions, but it was a very surreal experience. Oh…and meeting Christopher Heyerdahl – great hugs that man gives!

What has being a fan of Twilight opened up for you? friendships – so many new ones. And I’ve learned how strong some of those friendships are recently. And, oddly enough, Twilight broke through a nearly five-year case of writer’s block.

What is your craziest fangirl moment? l’m not sure I have one. Ummm…hearing Rob tell a mall full of screaming girls to shut up? LOL!!! That was the first Hot Topic tour. Sweltering in an un-air-conditioned bar in Dallas to see 100 Monkeys? When Erik recognized Allison at Fan Camp?

What are you reading right now? I honestly rarely read it. I guess as a writer, I’m always afraid I’ll subconsciously “borrow” something from someone else’s stories.

I know it’s almost impossible, but ~ what are your top 5 favorite fics? I’m not sure I can think of 5…and I’m horrible at remembering authors. Dark Side of the Moon by Blondie aka Robin (I think that’s her name) It’s New Moon from Edward’s POV. Wisp (a WIP by Cris); Contextually Speaking by Gemgirl65; Collared…don’t recall the author’s name on that one

Who is your favorite incarnation of Edward (specifically, from which story)? Hmmm…can’t really think of one specific one – they all have their merits

What are your fanfic hard limits?  RPFs – if you want to insert yourself into a story with Edward or Jasper, okay fine…but writing smut about Rob or Jackson or whoever…ewww

What is your biggest ficpeeve?  I usually prefer the characters to be close to canon – even if they’re in an all human universe, Edward needs to be like Edward

Who are your favorite authors?  Fanfic? Can’t think of any in particular

Why do you read fanfiction?  For stories that expand on what’s already out there.

What other fandoms do you count yourself a member of?Vampire Academy is my big thing right now, but I love a lot of classic and current stuff. Star Trek, Lord of the Rings/Hobbit, Vampire Diaries to some extent, but I prefer The Originals. Harry Potter. Star Wars. Loved the show Chris used to be on – Sanctuary. Stargate SG1 & Stargate Atlantis.

How Kaly and I met: We found each other on Twitter (can’t decide who followed who first). I was just excited about meeting ANOTHER Karen. (I go through almost my whole life knowing only two others -one Karin and one Karyn- and then, all of a sudden there are at least four in my TL, WHO SPELL IT THE RIGHT WAY!) Then after a few months of tweeting back and forth, we finally got to meet in real life, or as REAL LIFE as BD2 fan camp can be considered. Highly surreal, if you ask me.

Who is your favorite incarnation of Edward (specifically, from which story)? I like a funny, smirky Edward, one who does not mistreat Bella.  I don’t have a specific story, but that’s what I like.

What are your fanfic hard limits? No dying Edward, Charlie cannot be abusive or an asshole, canon please…it’s just not natural any other way.

What is your biggest ficpeeve? Lifting direct quotes and situations from the movies and books.  Also, overuse of adjectives.

Who are your favorite authors? I like a bunch of different authors.  Too many to list.

Why do you read fanfiction? I love the Twilight characters and fanfiction keeps that love alive.  I have immense respect for all the fic authors who write and share their stories with us.  Love that every day people are getting the chance to share their art with us.

How Jodi and I met: When my Q&A was posted as the “Meet a Twibetween” on that site, and the link was tweeted, Jodi tweeted me welcoming me to the crazy Twifandom world. And then, as time to organize our LA trips neared, we banded together as urban camping virgins. We decided we would be part of a wee group to get our “golden tickets” and camp together, and then survived the hell of being WAITLISTED! Then we FINALLY met up at fan camp and had the best time of our lives!

Jodi and I in Toronto when she came to visit this summer. Too bad there was construction where we were standing. 2 points to anyone who knows where the locations is! (Fich00rs don’t count. You already know.)

I mentioned in a previous post my “new friends” who share either my love of Twilight, fanfiction, and/or Rob and that some of us are still in our getting-to-know-you phase.  Last night, some of us were reminiscing about the emotional turmoil we were going through this time last year waiting to see if we were going to be added to the list of allowed campers for the Breaking Dawn Part 2 Tent City thing. This is when we first started to hook up as a group. Part of that reminiscing was rereading the Q&A things many of us filled out for TwiBetween’s blog. (Remember that?) In fact, that is how two of us “met” for the first time. The link to the blog posting was tweeted from Twibetween and JB decided to tweet me a very lovely “welcome to the fandom”.

So, as we were reading these old posts and being all nostalgic about Twilight movies and our mutual obsessions that brought us together in the first place, I decided to make up my own questions (and recycle some of the original ones) to commemorate the year anniversary of our friendship AND get to know our new group members better.  And then I thought, hey, my blog sucks – why not make it more interesting by sharing OTHER people’s answers for everyone to see? If you are at all like me, when you’re into something, you find it fascinating to get other’s views on it too. And if you are here reading this blog, you must have at least some lingering interest in one of the aforementioned aspects of “the fandom”, so you make like the Q&As too.

Which is your favorite Twilight movie? I can never choose. I’ve tried. I love them all for very different reasons. The freshness/innocence/sense-of-discovery in Twilight, the heartbreak and angst in New Moon, the love triangle and the visual beauty of Eclipse, the epic-ness of Breaking Dawn Part 1… but I will go with Breaking Dawn Part 2. It’s a great movie AND it has so many memories attached to it now.

What is your favorite song from any of the Twilight soundtracks? Very hard question to answer. The songs I love, I REALLY love. The New Moon/The Meadow song featured on the NM soundtrack from the score is one of the most beautiful pieces ever. I adore any and all Muse. I love Turning Page, Flightless Bird, My Love, Shooting the Moon, Possibility, Eyes on Fire, Spotlight, and A Thousand Years. But I’m going to have to go with Never Think and Let Me Sign. Rob’s voice does things to me…

Ideal vacay? Forks, set stalking, Brit Pack concert, or a non-Twi premiere? I am excited to say the only one I still need to cross off this list is the non-Twi premiere. C’mon NY Rover!! Although, big plans for the return to Forks. And ALWAYS down for any Brit Pack related show.

What is your favorite non-Twilight film of a Twilight star? Any Rob movie. They all have their merit. (But, I don’t feel the need to rewatch The Ring of the Nibelungs over and over.)

What is your favorite Twilight memory? PityCity and Forks. Anything and everything about those two trips. They were the highlights of my life.

Who is your favorite Twilight actor? Um, Rob… duh.  But, I also love Billy Burke. I like PFach in Nurse Jackie. Kellan is lovely eye candy. Nikki totally grew on me. So did Jackson. Don’t kick me, but I do still like some of Kristen’s movies. Dakota is much better as a teen/adult. And she does do a voice in one of my favourite movies of all time. Michael Sheen is pretty awesome. (*added later: I totally forgot to mention Anna Kendrick. I love her.)

What has being a fan of Twilight opened up for you? Two major perks have come from me coming out of my Twicloset ~ I met some of my closest friends, people I would not survive life without now. And I was introduced to the music of Sam, Bobby, and Marcus. If I hadn’t latched onto Twilight, I would never have met these people or heard this music and my life would be dull and empty.

What is your craziest fangirl moment? Moment? As in ONE thing?! I do many silly, cringe-worthy things. Perhaps the one I am best known for now is getting completely tanked RIGHT before the BD2 LA black carpet. Not my best decision ever. But makes for a great story.

Who is your favorite NON-Twilight vampire? I consistently tell people “I don’t like vampires”. Apparently this is untrue, although I still try to fight against it. I am not well-versed in canon vampires, so my frame of reference is limited. Other than Twilight, I love me some TVD. Stefan, Damon, Klaus… all awesome. And I cannot wait to see JRM as Dracula!! One more week!

What are you reading right now? I JUST finished Grasping Darkness by KiyaRaven. It has eclipsed my number one spot for favourite fic ever. Loved it.

Who is your favorite incarnation of Edward (specifically, from which story)? I adore Edward in The Best I Ever Had. He’s the perfect blend of funny and sweet and, of course, hot. And Edward in Wisp by cris has my heart. Other than those two, I am known for (and made fun of for) obsessing over broken-ward’s. Master of the Universe (even though I only read Fifty Shades, but changed the names back to Edward and Bella in my head), Clipped Wings, Just Wait, Wide Awake, Fridays at Noon, etc.  Also, I flail for psycho-ward’s like in the amazing (and incomplete   ) Buried Amongst the Begonias by durtynelly.

What are your fanfic hard limits? When Edward dies. No. I canNOT. Well, there was this one… I won’t say which to avoid spoiling which ended in a murder/suicide, but he was a psycho-ward and it totally fit. Annnnnnd…. there is a WIP…. which I am fighting a losing battle for. But, in general, NO! Edward is sacred. You shall not harm him. I STILL cry when he goes over that cliff in BD2. Even though I KNOW… Overall, I don’t read anything that isn’t E&B (unless a friend wrote it 😉  ). I am squicked out by non-canon pairings. I just doesn’t feel right.

What is your biggest ficpeeve? Another thing I am teased for is my laundry list of things that bug me. Even in my very favourites, there are things that make me wanna rip my hair out and smash my iPad. Some of the small things that irritate the crap out of me, but I still plow through, are: the overuse of one particular word, like in one of them (you can figure it out yourself), the word “blast” (or blasted) is used 38 times in the first 7 chapters. Mix it up! And when characters moan into each other’s mouths. I am soooo sick of that. Multiple badly executed Twiquotes make me ragey as well.  I am also obsessive when it comes to correcting spelling and grammar (hence my newfound love of beta-ing). But if it’s horrific, I can’t deal.  And I’m picky with dialogue too. If it’s too unrealistic or just irritating, I may flounce.

Who are your favorite authors? CaraNo, cosmogirl7481, planetblue, TheFicChick…  Honestly, I haven’t read enough yet. A lot of authors are good but I’ve only read one or two of theirs. There are some that I know I WILL like but haven’t gotten to them yet.

Why do you read fanfiction? It’s my escape. It has the fantasy my life lacks. Also, I am a hardcore avoider. There is such a variety of Twific out there. I can pick up something with an emotional tone that mirrors how I’m currently feeling and read along as the characters work through their shit, rather than deal with my own. It’s therapeutic, I guess. And I never have to say goodbye to Edward and Bella. Their love is FOREVER. ♥

What other fandoms do you count yourself a member of? Um… not really anything. I love Star Wars, but really, who doesn’t? and I am definitely a Weezer fangirl. But I don’t really interact much with other fans, so I don’t really feel a part of anything.
